Daniel Wilkinson has conducted fieldwork and advocacy throughout Latin America, and authored reports on a wide of human rights issues—including the persecution of environmental defenders—in Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, the United States, and Venezuela. Wilkinson's writings on US policy toward Latin America have been widely published. His book, "Silence on the Mountain: Stories of Terror, Betrayal, and Forgetting in Guatemala," won the PEN Award for outstanding first book of nonfiction by an American author. Wilkinson is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School. He speaks Spanish.
